I first knew of him via the tv series "Mama." I still have this postcard which the network sent me when I was a boy.

i remember dick van patten as the patriarch on the TV series EIGHT IS ENOUGH that was set in sacramento, if sacramento looked like L.A. still, everyone of my generation have warm memories of van patten and that show.
