I did a series of collages as my valentine that year. this one was for my dear friend David Meredith who died last year. all the faces inside the heart were people we either knew or admird or somehow talkd abt.
Some I recognize of course, some not at all but the two I'm not sure about would be Tadzio from "Death in Venice" in the sailor suit and perhaps Edmund Wilson?
yes to Lowell & Tadzio & Wilson. there's also Broadway actress Sheila Smith & opera singer John Koch & painter Mary Ann Begland & of course James Dean.

Odd. The boy from "Death in Venice" is the first my eye registered without doubt. Hmmmmm.
