At 88 he has earned the right to be fragile! My dad will be 85 later this year, and my mom is 78. She just discovered she has some disease I've never heard of...Myelodysplastic Syndrome. As I learn about it, it doesn't sound good...
But the saving grace is the attitute she has. She survived a bout with cancer about 25 years ago, and my dad has survived that bout twice. Their "hold the right thought" philosophy seems to get them through a lot of crap.
I pray your Mom will be okay. MDS is a horrible diagnosis. I know because my brother-in-law died last week after being diagnosed with MDS 7 months earlier. One thing I find to be in common is that most of the MDS patients I'm learning about they each had a cancer history. We have learned that probably one of his chemo meds is what caused his MDS to develop.
I pray your Mom will be healed. I send hugs and much strength your way.

April so far has been kind of crummy. I hope your Dad is feeling better.

Dad's quite fragile but I'll be returning to Ohio in july for his 88th birthday.
